Cabrillo national monument
The Cabrillo National Monument is located in a large metropolitan area just west of San Diego, California, on the southernmost tip of the peninsula. It spans 160 acres and is bordered by the Pacific ocean on the west, San Diego bay on the east, and urban development to the north.

Point reyes
The Point Reyes National Park is located on the Point Reyes peninsula. This park is home to over 45% of North American avian species and nearly 18% of California's plant species.

This park is located near the San Andreas Fault along the boundary of the Pacific Plate and the North American Plate.

yosemite national park
Yosemite National Park is located 195 miles from San Francisco and 315 miles from Los Angeles. The park spans 1,169 square miles and is home to over 400 species of vertebrate animals and over 1,000 plant species.
